Yorkshire County Cricket Club is pleased to announce that spectators will be able to purchase commentary headsets from the Vitality T20 Blast game vs Bears at Headingley on Friday 13th June onwards.

The headsets – provided in conjunction with Official Partner Vertu – will allow spectators to listen to the Club’s in house commentary team for all remaining white ball games in 2025, and to BBC commentary for any Rothesay County Championship games.

Furthering the Club’s journey towards greater accessibility, these new headsets will provide a brilliant opportunity for visually impaired spectators to have greater access to the game.

Alongside games at Headingley, the headsets will be available to use at both Scarborough and York; offering members and spectators alike the opportunity to enhance their matchday experience by listening to commentary whilst watching the game.

Similar to Sky Sports and BBC TMS headsets which are ubiquitous at international games in this country, these will be priced at just £13 – with spectators able to purchase once and re-use as many times as they wish.

Headsets can be purchased from the Yorkshire Cricket Museum from Friday.

Sam Gascoyne, Head of Marcomms at Yorkshire CCC said: “We are delighted to be able to offer commentary earpieces for all domestic home games moving forward and are confident that our members and supporters will enjoy the opportunity to listen-in to the commentaries whilst at our venues.

“Having offered a similar product over ten years ago, we believe they will be very popular and enhance the matchday experience for many of our visitors.

“As we strive to make the game more accessible, the earpieces will also allow us to offer a much better experience for supporters with any visual impairments.

“We are grateful to Vertu for making this possible.”

Each headset will be individually adorned with Vertu branding, and come with an individual box for storage and transportation.

Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu, said: “Since coming on board with Yorkshire, we have been incredibly excited to widen the reach of Yorkshire cricket to as many people as possible.

“This started with our live stream partnership and these new headsets are an extension of that.

“Cricket is a game for all, and we’re delighted to be partnering with the Club to extend this aim for the benefit of Yorkshire CCC members and supporters alike.”
