Scorecard:
Summary:
A dominant performance from Yorkshire against a strong Nottinghamshire team was enough to secure the required points to crown the White Rose as County Champions. For the first time since David Byas’ side lifted the trophy in 2001, the White Rose claimed the title. The game itself could be considered as almost the perfect performance, with Yorkshire only batting once, compiling 532 for 9 declared in the first innings. A century from Adam Lyth, 90’s from Gary Ballance and Tim Bresnan and 86 from Alex Lees led the way and the Trent Bridge-based county had no answers. Yorkshire’s bowlers dismissed Nottinghamshire for 203, before enforcing the follow-on and dismissing Chris Read’s side for 177. Openers Ryan Sidebottom and Jack Brooks did most of the damage, taking nine and six wickets respectively in the match and the spoils went to the White Rose.
