Yorkshire all-rounder Ed Barnes has joined Derbyshire on loan for the remainder of the season.

Barnes, who will be available to play for Derbyshire in the next round of Bob Willis Trophy fixtures, will not be eligible to play against Yorkshire in 2020.

Martyn Moxon, Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s Director of Cricket said: “We believe that this is a good opportunity for Ed to get some first team experience under his belt.

“There is a lot of competition for places in the Yorkshire squad at the moment, so this will give Ed a great chance to play First-Class and T20 cricket this summer.

“We do have the option to recall Ed from his loan spell at any point.”
