Yorkshire Men’s assistant coach Ali Maiden will depart the Club at the end of the season having accepted the role of Head Coach of Bears Women.

Maiden has been with Yorkshire for three seasons having joined the county in early 2022.

The 41-year-old, who will return to his birth county of Warwickshire, has the responsibilities of lead batting coach at Headingley and has contributed to the development of a number of young batters, including the likes of Harry Brook, Fin Bean and George Hill amongst others.

He has also worked with players in the Academy in that time.

Maiden, Dudley-born, was part of England’s backroom staff for their 2017 women’s World Cup win when they famously beat India at Lord’s.

He has also just returned to Headingley having worked in this summer’s Hundred as an assistant coach for women’s winners London Spirit.

Colin Graves, Chair of YCCC, said: “Everyone at the Club wishes Ali all the best in his future career and thank him for his contribution to Yorkshire CCC over the last three seasons.”
