The start of play on day two was delayed by 45 minutes due to rain. Resuming under floodlights at 349 for 2, George Hill was caught behind for one and the captain, David Willey, came to the crease to join Matthew Revis. Revis took his score to a magnificent 177 before he was caught at first slip – he had faced 304 balls hitting 21 fours and been at the crease for 429 minutes.

David Willey made 25 from 19 balls and was caught at deep point and after a further interruption for bad light Matthew Waite was bowled for 17 from 15 balls. Jordan Thompson and Ben Birkhead added 44 in 25 balls and during a further stoppage for bad light, at 1.55pm, a declaration was made.

Tea was taken at 4pm and with no improvement play was abandoned for the day at 4.50pm.

John Virr – 2nd XI Scorer
