Yorkshire Cricket Policy on Kirpans
Yorkshire Cricket firmly believes that people should have the right to demonstrate their religious beliefs and that the Club’s role in the community should be used positively to encourage social inclusion whenever it is safe and practical to allow this to happen.
As such individuals who are members of the Sikh faith and who have demonstrated their commitment to the faith by going through the Amrit process will be welcomed at Headingley Cricket Ground and will be permitted access carrying the symbols of their faith including the Kirpan.
However, the Club also has a duty of care to everyone who comes to Headingley. It has established a policy which respects the rights of Sikhs but also respects the rights of others and the Club’s regulatory obligations.
Spectators who may wish to wear a kirpan at either of these games will need to become familiar with the requirements needed to be met in order to do so. Please note the information in the below link is under ‘Other Considerations’.
What is the minimum age for a fan to attend a game alone?
The minimum age for a child (anyone under the age of 18) to attend an event unaccompanied is 14 years old. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult*. It is the responsibility of the ticket purchaser to check before buying tickets that they comply with these age restrictions. Whilst there is a minimum age restriction in place, parents/carers are responsible for deciding whether their child (aged 14-17) needs to be accompanied by a responsible adult based on their general developmental maturity and their awareness of potential risks.
*A responsible adult is aged 18 or older, with the capacity to make decisions that are in the best interests of a child and actively supervises them.

EVENTS
Members Forum
Our first members forum will be taking place in the Long Room at 10am on Friday 5th April. Colin Graves will be in attendance taking questions from members.
Bring a Friend Initiative
We are pleased to introduce our Bring A Friend initiative for Day 2 of the game. Members who are All-In or County Championship should have been contacted as these members will be able to bring a friend into the ground for free. This initiative is separate from the guest passes that all members have.
Object Handling Sessions
At the lunch interval on Saturday 6th April in the Long Room, our Heritage Advisory Group will be holding an Object Handling session. This is a great opportunity to learn, listen and pour over some historical memorabilia.
Due to its location, this will only be accessible for members.
Scorecards Talk on Yorkshire Opponent Teams
Another event that is being facilitated by our Heritage Advisory Group; this is a great chance to relive some epic matches we have had against Leicestershire. Each short talk will be illustrated from our speaker’s vast personal collection of cricketing memorabilia, bringing each game to life.
This will take place at the lunch interval on Sunday 7th April in the Museum’s Cinema Space.
Please note that due to the location of the event, spaces are limited to 10 people. We therefore advise anyone wanting to guarantee a spot, to come and speak to the museum staff before the start of play on the day of the talk.
The talk will start five minutes after the lunch break is called.
