We have two principal aims:-
• Promoting and supporting the Yorkshire County Cricket Club in the south, especially at match events.
• Providing sponsorship to be used for the development of young Yorkshire Cricketers.
We currently have around 200 members, not only from the south but from all parts of the country. All are welcome to join in our support for YCCC. Membership is by annual donation and we are currently asking for a minimum of £15.

Over the years we have regularly provided financial sponsorship to assist the development of the club’s younger players. This has included funds for inter-personal and media skills training, coaching mats and bats for scholarship players. The first recipient was Paul Jarvis in 1984. Over the years we have sponsored such players as:- Darren Gough, Members of Yorkshire’s Young Fast Bowling Squad, Tim Bresnan, Joe Sayers, Jonathan Bairstow.
In 2016 we contributed towards Karl Carver & Will Rhodes going to India during the closed season and also Andrew Gale’s benefit. In 2017 we contributed towards Steve Patterson’s benefit.
We produce a quarterly newsletter, the “Southern Group Newsletter”, with details of our forthcoming events and articles about Yorkshire cricket both past and present.
