  • Aims

    We have two principal aims:-
    • Promoting and supporting the Yorkshire County Cricket Club in the south, especially at match events.
    • Providing sponsorship to be used for the development of young Yorkshire Cricketers.

    Membership

We currently have around 200 members, not only from the south but from all parts of the country. All are welcome to join in our support for YCCC. Membership is by annual donation and we are currently asking for a minimum of £15.

    Events

Throughout the season we arrange events when the Yorkshire first XI are playing in the South, and invariably an event at Emerald Headingley. This often includes a lunch, sometimes with private viewing facilities at the ground.

In most years during spring/summer we hold a beneficiary event in a London hotel where the Yorkshire beneficiary is our guest speaker. The evening also includes a supper. Speakers at the supper have included; Matthew Hoggard, Michael Vaughan and Tim Bresnan. In 2015 our beneficiary was Richard Pyrah who talked openly and frankly to the gathering and took a question and answer session. In 2016 we were pleased to welcome Andrew Gale to our summer event. Andrew answered questions put to him by Dave Callaghan of the BBC and after supper took questions from the audience.

During the ‘off’ season we arrange an Annual Lunch in London during November. Past guest speakers have included:- Ian Dews, Christopher Martin-Jenkins, Martyn Moxon, Ken Taylor, Geoffrey Boycott, Mark Arthur and many others. In November 2017 the guest speaker at the lunch was the year’s beneficiary, Steven Patterson.
