Our spin star is the Ria-l deal!

Ria Fackrell arrived at Headingley to sign for Yorkshire on a three-year contract ahead of 2025 and ended her first year in the Broad Acres with Metro Bank One-Day Cup 2 glory and personal success too.

The off-spinning all-rounder has been playing senior regional cricket for Central Sparks in recent years, but she settled nicely into White Rose life and was the leading wicket-taker in the whole of the T20 Vitality Blast 2 competition with 16. Unfortunately, however, Yorkshire were beaten finalists.

Aged 26, she is a cricketer with a good amount of experience under her belt, despite this being her maiden full-time professional contract. Last summer, she returned a best of 4-13 in that aforementioned haul of 16 wickets.

Coventry-born Fackrell has turned herself into a spin bowler having bowled medium pace. She is also a dependable lower middle order batter.

She has played county cricket for Warwickshire, for Lancashire Thunder in the old Kia Super League days and for Birmingham Phoenix in the Hundred.

At international level, in December 2023, she helped an England National Counties XI win the European Championship T10 title in Malaga.

She has 103 senior appearances across 50-over and T20 cricket to her name.

Her best performances both came in T20 cricket.

For Warwickshire women, in August 2024, Fackrell hit an unbeaten 86 batting at three in a County Cup win over Northamptonshire.

A fortnight earlier, Fackrell had taken a superb 5-11 from three overs in victory over Leicestershire.
