Thomas has that Yorkshire Grit
Erin Thomas is an exciting top order batter who has just signed her maiden professional contract with Yorkshire Women.
Teenager Thomas is a dynamic top order batter who will hope to head into the 2025 summer as an Under 19s World Cup winner with England. She has been selected in their squad for the January T20 tournament in Malaysia.
A product of Drax Cricket Club near Selby, she has played in the same league team as her father Kevin and her older brother Lewis.
Thomas has been part of the Yorkshire pathway since the age of 12 and played senior county cricket for the White Rose in 2023 and 2024, though that structure has now changed.
She toured Sri Lanka with the England Under 19s at the start of the 2024 summer and has impressed for the Northern Diamonds Academy.
As a batter, Thomas describes herself as a “a clean ball striker, an attacking player who looks to hit the ball hard. But, at the same time, I’m still a technical player”.
A former Yorkshire Cricket College student, she notes international legends Katherine Sciver-Brunt and Sophie Devine amongst her idols.
Thomas was also a talented junior tennis player with county experience to her name. In fact, she can count Yorkshire men’s batter Noah Kelly as a former team-mate.
