Claudie will put ’em in a spin
Off-spinner Claudie Cooper has made the move north from Surrey, signing a two-year contract with Yorkshire Women.
Cooper, 22-years-old, made her senior county debut for her home county in 2019 and took 58 wickets for them in all cricket.
The Guildford-born twirler has signed her maiden professional contract at Headingley. She is one of seven in the Yorkshire squad to have done that ahead of 2025.
Cooper came through the Surrey age-groups from Under 13s onwards and played senior regional cricket for the South East Stars and has been a squad member with the Oval Invincibles in the Hundred. Cooper debuted for the Stars in 2023, during the 2024 summer she claimed a career best of 4-5 whilst opening the bowling for Surrey in a County T20 Cup win over Suffolk.
She is a versatile bowler in that she is comfortable bowling in any phase of the game and a live wire in the field.
Cooper’s talent was spotted by Lauren Winfield-Hill, who spent time with her in the Invincibles set-up. She recommended the offie to the Yorkshire hierarchy.
