SCORECARD

Yorkshire’s D40 Pursuit side continued their winning start to the new season with a 117-run success against Shropshire at Higham CC in Barnsley yesterday.

The White Rose posted 190-7 from their 40 overs, built upon an opening 71 from Dan Copping on debut, with Harry Backhouse also contributing 49.

In reply, they bowled Shropshire out for just 71 courtesy of a new-ball 4-25 from eight overs for William Baxter and three wickets for Ollie Wills.

Yorkshire are now top of the embryonic table with the maximum 60 points on offer having beaten Shropshire away a fortnight ago.

Meanwhile, the county’s D40 Quest team – effectively the first team – start their National Quest League campaign this coming Sunday away to Derbyshire. The S9 softball side also begin their summer on the same day away to Wales.
