The Yorkshire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce the signing of seamer Hannah Rainey.
The Scottish international has joined from Lancashire on a two-year contract and will be available for selection immediately having already linked up with Rich Pyrah’s squad ahead of the return of the Metro Bank One Day Cup 2, this Saturday against Middlesex.
The 28-year-old, who outside of cricket is a qualified vet, has extensive international experience with Scotland, having taken 32 senior international wickets with a best of 5-41 and 3-15 in ODI’s and T20I’s respectively.
Earlier this season Rainey spent time on loan at Warwickshire, a stint in which she played against the White Rose in the Vitality County Cup.
Upon signing Rainey, Pyrah said, “Hannah will complement our bowling unit really well and we’re all delighted to see her join us.
“Her experience is something which will undoubtedly benefit us in our final stretch of the season. We have some young players coming through and having someone like Hannah around the group will be incredibly valuable to this squad.
“Hannah’s skill level is extremely high and having played against us earlier in the season for Warwickshire, we saw that skill up close.
“We’re excited to see what Hannah will bring to the team going forward.”
