The Yorkshire County Cricket Club (YCCC) is delighted to announce the signing of all-rounder Ria Fackrell on a three-year deal.
Fackrell arrives at Headingley with experience of senior regional cricket with Central Sparks, with Warwickshire in county cricket and Birmingham Phoenix in the Hundred. She also played for Lancashire Thunder in the latter stages of the Kia Super League.
At international level, last December, she helped an England National Counties XI win the European Championship T10 title in Malaga.
An off-spinner and a lower middle order batter, the 25-year-old from Coventry will form a key part of Yorkshire’s drive for success heading into Tier 1 in 2026.
On signing her maiden full-time professional contract with Yorkshire, Fackrell said: “It’s a privilege to join such an iconic club.
“This is something I’ve been working towards since I started playing cricket 16 years ago now, and I’m lucky enough to say that my dream job of becoming a professional cricketer has become a reality.
“Having had discussions with the coach and the leaders of the Club I know how exciting the future is going to be here, and I cannot wait to play my part in achieving success for Yorkshire.
“We have a lot of development to do with a new team, but with all the work we’re going to do, and the great mix of youth and experience, I think we will be a hard team to beat.”
Yorkshire Women’s Head Coach Richard Pyrah, said: “Securing a spinner to enhance our bowling department was a key aim ahead of the season. We’re delighted that we’ve managed to sign a player of Ria’s calibre.
“Ria is an emerging all-rounder who is ready to make an impact for Yorkshire Women. Her ability and desire to want to grow and develop as a player means that she will be a great addition to the squad that we are building for the exciting season ahead and beyond.
“We want to provide Ria with the platform to develop her game and reach the next level. We look forward to seeing Ria thrive at Headingley over the coming years.”
