The Yorkshire County Cricket Club is pleased to confirm the overseas signing of Faheem Ashraf.
The Pakistan international replaces Will Sutherland who withdrew from his time with the Club due to injury.
The 32-year-old bowling all-rounder who has been capped 17 times in Test cricket and 85 times in IT20’s for Pakistan, will be available throughout the Vitality Blast group stages and will be part of the squads for rounds seven and eight of the Rothesay County Championship.
Ashraf, who is played for Islamabad United in this season’s Pakistan Super League, recently became only the second all-rounder in the competition’s history to score 1000 runs and take 100 wickets.
Speaking on the news, Ashraf said, “I’m delighted to be joining Yorkshire. Many of my fellow Pakistan players have represented the Club and have spoken highly of both the environment and the quality of players within the squad.
“I’m really looking forward to arriving at Headingley.”
Gavin Hamilton, General Manager of Cricket, said, “Faheem is an experienced multi-format player who will be a really valuable addition to the squad.
“He brings a great ability to score quick, lower order runs as well as the skill to make a real impact with the ball.”
