Yorkshire bowler Alex Wade has been included in the England Men U19s squad for the five-match Youth One-Day International series against India Men U19s, whilst 4 Yorkshire Pathway players have been selected for an England U19 Invitational XI.

Will Bennison, Jay Singh, Owen Smith and Matthew Firbank will join Wade in playing representative cricket in 2025 having been called up for the Invitational XI who will play against both India and England U19’s in June.

18-year-old Wade, who made his Youth Test Match debut earlier this year in South Africa where he impressed with both bat and ball has raw pace, with similarities having been noted to England seamer Saqib Mahmood.

Somerset’s Thomas Rew will captain the side, with the series beginning at the 1st Central County Ground in Hove on Friday 27 June before matches in Northampton and Worcester.

England Men U19s Head Coach, Mike Yardy, said: “We’ve selected an exciting squad for the ODI series. We have players who have a variety of white-ball skills and predominantly available for the ICC Under-19 World Cup in the winter.

“India Under-19s will provide a great challenge this summer and it’s a great opportunity for the boys to perform as a team and individually.”

Thomas Rew (Somerset – captain), Ralphie Albert (Surrey), Ben Dawkins (Kent), Jaydn Denly (Kent), Rocky Flintoff (Lancashire), Alex French (Surrey), Alex Green (Leicestershire), Jack Home (Worcestershire), James Isbell (Middlesex), Ben Mayes (Hampshire), James Minto (Durham), Isaac Mohammed (Worcestershire), Joseph Moores (Lancashire), Seb Morgan (Middlesex), Alex Wade (Yorkshire).

Two Youth Test matches are scheduled to take place at The County Ground, Beckenham on 12th July and The Ambassador Cruise Line Ground, Chelmsford on Saturday 19th July with squads for these still to be confirmed.
