The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation – the official charity and community arm of Yorkshire County Cricket Club – is encouraging organisations who work with older adults to take part in a special match day experience at Headingley.

The Foundation’s call to action is to celebrate the return of the Yorkshire Social Club programme for the 2023 cricket season.

The Yorkshire Social Club is a project delivered by YCF which provides older adults in Yorkshire the opportunity to watch Yorkshire CCC play at home for free, while also providing a social and welcoming environment at Headingley Cricket Ground.

Beth Cook, Health & Wellbeing Manager for YCF, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for community social action groups and organisations who work with older adults to provide a sociable, friendly and relaxed day out together, whilst watching live sport.

“At Yorkshire Cricket we are striving to make our cricket grounds, in particular Headingley Cricket Ground and our associated out-grounds, as welcoming and accessible as possible and want to provide older adults a day out to remember.

“As the population ages, it is important to ensure there are still opportunities for those who identify as older adults to engage with their community and we want to work with as many organisations who support older adults and are keen to provide a day they will never forget for their members.”
