Ami Campbell has hailed Yorkshire’s coaching and backroom staff as “unbelievable”, saying they played a massive part in the county’s success last season.
The White Rose won the Tier 2 Metro Bank One-Day Cup title having narrowly missed out on silverware in the T20 Vitality Blast as beaten finalists.
It was the ideal way to prepare for their elevation to Tier 1 this summer.
Campbell was Yorkshire’s women’s player of the year and was one of a host of players who deserve significant credit.
But the left-handed batter has heaped praise on those working on the other side of the boundary rope, led by – but not limited to – head coach Rich Pyrah and his assistants Chris Brice and Kevin Sharp.
“They’ve been unbelievable,” she said.

“We have such a good blend of people working around us. They’re not just good coaches, they’re just good humans. That’s obviously a massive part of it.
“We have Bricey who is very straight to the point, Rich who is very calm. But you listen when he talks and isn’t very happy about something.
“Kev has also got this great personality that added to that team towards the end of the season. He has a real infectious nature about him.
“Everybody worked really hard last year, coaches and players, and we’ve created this unbelievable environment for us all to thrive in.
“Rich has put a massive amount of work in on that side of things – the environment is everything.
“We really bond so well together as a group, and we’re all one big family. It goes such a long way. It did last year, and I’m sure it will this as well.”
