Warwickshire trailed by 57 as the days play began, Rob Yates and Pieter Malan having already added 69. Unfortunately, the latter was dropped at slip when 16 had been added and the pair took their partnership to 120 from 256 balls. This was before Malan was caught behind down the leg side for 62 from 119 deliveries with seven fours.
Ethan Brookes made a rapid 22 before becoming James Mukherjees first victim but they reached lunch without further loss at 174-3, Yates being unbeaten on 75 from 193 deliveries.
McGladdery was smartly stumped by Harry Duke off Jack Shutt for 34 and his spin partner Josh Sullivan dismissed Yates for 97, well taken at short leg by James Wharton. Three more wickets were taken and Warwickshire had slipped from 221-3 to 256-8, a lead of 125.
Garrett and Kelley steadied the ship and at tea they had reached 275-8. They took this partnership to 72 from 193 balls before the formers stumps were uprooted by Matthew Revis and he soon wrapped up their innings by dismissing Sidebottom. However their last 2 wickets had added 88 and our target was now 214 to win.
At the close we had made 30 for the loss of James Wharton for 1, Revis 4 not out and Harry Duke 20 not out.
