Yorkshire Academy visited Woodhouse Grange on Saturday. After winning the toss the visitors elected to bat and both openers were soon dismissed to leave them on 9 for 2. Captain Will Luxton was the next wicket to fall with the total on 38. Harry Allinson and Daniel Ford then put together an excellent fourth wicket partnership of 93 from 115 balls before Ford went for 26.

Allinson completed his century before being out for a superb 125 from 127 balls with 16 fours and 3 sixes. Harry Sullivan made a quick 27 as the Yorkshire Academy innings finished on an impressive 242 for 8 from 50 overs especially after the poor start. Opening bowler Tom Neal was the main wicket taker for the home side with 4 for 44 from 12 overs.

In the reply Woodhouse Grange lost their first wicket with the total only on 6. Chris Bilton joined Harry Gamble and the pair put on 66 before Bilton went for 23 with Gamble two runs later for 41. Jarryn Basson and Henry Wilson shared a fourth wicket partnership of 73 from 110 balls before Wilson was dismissed for 29. The wickets were shared by Harry Sullivan 4 for 46 and Charlie Bourne 2 for 52 with both from 13 overs.

It was an excellent all round performance from the young Academy side especially after the disappointing first match of the season last week.
