Live: Warwickshire v Yorkshire Men, Rothesay CC, Day Two

It's day two of Warwickshire versus Yorkshire at Edgbaston. The White Rose hold the advantage in bowler-friendly conditions; 110-4 in reply to 147 all out. Can they strengthen their grip today? Follow this page for live updates.

Close. Warwickshire 267-3, 77 overs

That’s a very disappointing day for Yorkshire.

Warwickshire lead by 262, with Sam Hain 43 and Beau Webster 18.

The Yorkshire Wall

Harry Brook is bowling to three men lined up close in on the off-side – from a short mid-0ff to a short-cover – and another three on the leg-side from short mid-on to short mid-wicket.

Warwickshire 255-3, 71 overs

The hosts lead by 250 with six overs remaining in the day.

Sam Hain has 42 and Beau Webster 11.

Dom Bess and Harry Brook are in operation for the White Rose.

Warwickshire 229-3, 61.3 overs

Dan Mousley caught Matthew Revis bowled Logan van Beek, 70.

Pulled down to long-leg.

Warwickshire lead by 224 with Sam Hain on 27 and Beau Webster having just come to the crease.

Light fading

The light isn’t so clever here at Edgbaston as we head towards the final 20 overs of the day.

Warwickshire 209-2 with a lead of 204.

Dan Mousley has 57 and Sam Hain 20.

Mousley 50

Dan Mousley reaches his fifty off 96 balls, taking Warwickshire to 200-2.

They lead by 195.

Warwickshire 185-2, leading by 180

Dan Mousley has 41 and Sam Hain 14.

Matthew Revis and George Hill are in operation for Yorkshire, who could do with a couple of quick wickets.

While conditions do seem to be easier for batting, there’s still enough there for the bowlers and, unfortunately, the White Rose haven’t been as consistent as they were in the first innings.

Warwickshire 147-2, 37.1 overs

Rob Yates caught Harry Brook bowled Jack White, 81.

Caught at first slip, sharp catch albeit straight to him.

Warwickshire lead by 142 as Sam Hain comes to the crease.

Tea. Warwickshire 142-1, 35 overs

Rob Yates has moved to 80 and Dan Mousley has 16.

Yorkshire ended the evening with Dom Bess and Harry Brook bowling.

Warwickshire lead by 137, and we have 45 overs remaining in the day.

Warwickshire 95-1, 24.5 overs

Alex Davies caught Fin Bean bowled Matthew Revis, 38.

Leading edge straight to cover hands Yorkshire a desperately-needed breakthrough.

Warwickshire lead by 90 with Rob Yates 51 and Dan Mousley together now.

Yates 50

Rob Yates has just reached his fifty off 67 balls with 10x4s.

Warwickshire are 81-0 in the 24th over, leading by 76.

Revis into the attack

Matthew Revis has replaced Logan van Beek.

Warwickshire 70-0.

Warwickshire 70-0, 17 overs

Rob Yates has 41 and Alex Davies 27.

Unfortunately, Logan van Beek has been very expensive in his first two overs, conceding 30 runs.

The Bears are 65 in front.

Hill into the attack

George Hill is on in place of Ben Cliff as Warwickshire advance to 36-0, leading by 31.

Rob Yates has 20 and Alex Davies 16.

Yorkshire could do with a wicket.

And now Logan van Beek is on for Jack White.

A couple of early Rob Yates' boundaries

Warwickshire 16-0 in the early stages of the afternoon as Jack White and Ben Cliff continue.

The Bears are 14 in front.

Lunch. Warwickshire 7-0, 5 overs

The Bears lead by two runs after a strong morning for the hosts.

It’s down to a one-innings game.

Warwickshire 3-0, 3rd over

Warwickshire openers Alex Davies and Rob Yates have one job at present. Get through to lunch.

Yorkshire will clearly be hoping that isn’t the case.

The Bears trail by two as Jack White and Ben Cliff take the new ball for Yorkshire.

Yorkshire 152 all out, 45.2 overs

George Hill caught Rob Yates bowled Jordan Thompson, 7.

What a catch that is. One-handed going to his right. It was almost behind him.

That gives Thompson his 200th first-class wicket and his third of the innings.

Yorkshire lead by five runs having lost their last six wickets for only 15 runs.

Yorkshore 152-9, 44.4 overs

Ben Cliff caught Rob Yates bowled Ed Barnard, 1.

Edged drive and caught at second slip.

Certainly not the morning Yorkshire were after as they fall from 110-4 overnight.

The lead is five with Jack White and George Hill, 7, together.

That was Barnard’s 350th first-class wicket.

Yorkshire 151-8, 41.4 overs

Logan van Beek caught Dan Mousley bowled Jordan Thompson, 2.

Miscued a drive to cover to hand Thompson a wicket with his fourth ball of the morning.

Yorkshire have a lead of four runs with two wickets remaining.

Ben Cliff has joined George Hill, who has seven, at the crease.

Incidentally, in Warwickshire’s first innings, it was van Beek who removed Thompson.

Yorkshire into the lead

Yorkshire 149-7 in the 39th over as George Hill drives Ed Barnard through the covers for four.

If the White Rose can eke out a lead of 75 ish, that would feel very significant.

Yorkshire 143-7, 35.2 overs

Dom Bess caught Rob Yates bowled Oliver Hannon-Dalby, 1.

Caught low down at second slip.

Yorkshire are four behind, with Logan van Beek having come to the crease to join George Hill, who has 1.

Yorkshire 141-6, 31.3 overs

Harry Brook bowled Ethan Bamber, 40.

Brook is bowled on the drive.

Yorkshire have since moved to 141-5, trailing by six.

George Hill in alongside Jonny Bairstow, who has 25.

Oh no, Bairstow has been bowled trying to leave Olly Hannon-Dalby alone.

Dom Bess in now.

Yorkshire out of the blocks quickly

Harry Brook 40 and Jonny Bairstow 21 have added 27 runs in just over five overs this morning.

Yorkshire 137-4 in the 30th, trailing by only 10 runs.

Duke on loan to Middlesex

Harry Duke has gone on loan to Middlesex for this game at Lancashire and their next.

Yorkshire 116-4, 26th over

A couple of byes and a Harry Brook boundary through the covers off Oliver Hannon-Dalby.

He has 33, with Jonny Bairstow on 9.

Yorkshire trail by 31.

Harry Duke in for Middlesex

Just noticed that Harry Duke has been subbed in for Joe Cracknell, for Middlesex against Lancashire at Emirates Old Trafford.

Presume it’s a short-term loan. Will hopefully clarify shortly.

Good morning...

It’s a glorious Edgbaston morning.

The sun is shining, and we’re all set for a start on time at 11am.

Yorkshire will resume on 110-4 in their first-innings reply to 147 all out.

Harry Brook 29 and Jonny Bairstow 9 will be at the crease first thing.

It will be fascinating to see what conditions we are faced with today. There was obvious seam and swing yesterday. If that carries on today, this game could be very well advanced come this evening.

You can recap our match report and reaction, the latter with new-ball seamer Ben Cliff – he struck twice yesterday, via the links below.

The stream will be available at the top of the page before we get going this morning.

Enjoy the day.
