Somerset win toss and bowl

Yorkshire: Adam Lyth, Fin Bean, James Wharton, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow c/w, Matthew Revis, George Hill, Dom Bess, Logan van Beek, Jhye Richardson, Jack White.

Jonny Bairstow is due to keep wicket in this game.

Sam Whiteman is not fit to play due to a testicular issue having been hit there during the Sussex draw by  seamer Henry Crocombe.

Green tinge to the pitch

There is a definite ‘bowl first’ look to the surface.

The warm-ups are in full swing here.

There is actually some rain forecast for later this morning, so we shall see how things progress.

Good morning....

From Taunton, where it’s an overcast but dry morning ahead of day one against Somerset, starting at 11am.

Yorkshire’s fourth match of the season sees them tackle a Somerset side who are quasi leaders of Division One.

They are sat a point behind table-toppers Warwickshire with two wins from three games so far. The Bears have played four, won one, lost one and drawn two.

After drawing their season-opener here against champions Nottinghamshire, they have claimed away wins at Essex and Hampshire.

Yorkshire, meanwhile, have played three, drawn two and lost one.

The White Rose were much-improved in their high-scoring draw against Sussex at Headingley last weekend, when Somerset had their bye week.

There is no Tom Kohler-Cadmore in Somerset’s squad for this game, but former Yorkshire seamer Josh Shaw is in having joined the county from Gloucestershire over the winter.

You can read our preview for today’s game, with George Hill, via the link below.

We also spoke to Adam Lyth for a bygones piece ahead of this game, Lyth reflecting on taking the winning wicket here in 2017. Again, that’s linked below.

There will be a live stream, as ever. That’s embedded at the top of the page.

Enjoy the day.
