The hosts dominate day one and have finished with a lead of 39.

Josh Thomas 136 and Tom Abell 41.

Little to shout about for Yorkshire, unfortunately, who have it all to do over the next three days.

Somerset 192-3, 46th over

Josh Thomas has moved to 128 and Tom Abell 40.

These two have shared a damaging 157 for the fourth wicket.

We’re into the final five overs of the day.

Josh Thomas hundred

Josh Thomas has reached his century off 109 balls with 14x4s and a six.

He has since added a 15th four, and Somerset are 150-3.

Fair play to the left-hander, it’s been a superb knock.

Yorkshire need a wicket

Josh Thomas 65 and Tom Abell 13 have taken the sting out of the situation from a Somerset point of view here.

They have shared 67 for the fourth wicket.

Somerset, at 102-3, trail by only 60 now.

The sky has gone overcast again. We have just a little more than 20 overs remaining in the day.

Josh Thomas 50

He has reached his fifty off 54 balls as Somerset move to 80-3.

Tom Abell has 5 as Somerset move to within 82 of Yorkshire’s first-innings total.

The sun is now out at Taunton.

Somerset 35-3, 11.2 overs

James Rew caught Fin Bean bowled Jack White, 7.

Squared up and edges to Bean at third slip, where he takes a very, very good catch with George Hill diving in front of him.

Tom Abell in now alongside Josh Thomas, 16.

Somerset 26-2, 8.4 overs

Tom Lammonby lbw Jhye Richardson, 5.

In-swing does for the left-hander.

Somerset 17-1, 5.3 overs

Archie Vaughan caught behind Jonny Bairstow bowled Jack White, 7.

Pushing forwards and feathers behind.

Tom Lammonby is in now alongside Josh Thomas as Somerset reply to 162.

Much brighter now

Not quite ‘sun’s out’ territory, but it is much, much brighter now here at Taunton.

Somerset 17-0 in the fifth over of their response.

Somerset's reply to 162 up and running

Jhye Richardson has a strong appeal for lbw against Archie Vaughan turned down first ball.

We have 50 overs remaining in the day.

With the light gloomy, it would be a significant surprise if we saw them all.

Yorkshire 162 all out, 43.2 overs

George Hill caught Tom Lammonby bowled Craig Overton, 18.

Top-edged pull out to deep square-leg.

Fin Bean top-scores with 35, and Lewis Gregory 6-43.

Yorkshire lost their last seven wickets for 38 runs.

Yorkshire 146-9, 40.2 overs

Yorkshire have fallen from 124-3 to 140-7.

Logan van Beek in alongside George Hill.

Matthew Revis bowled Lewis Gregory, 8.

Oh no. Revis leaves alone, and Somerset’s impressive start to the afternoon continues.

Yorkshire 140-5, 35.3 overs

Jonny Bairstow caught behind James Rew bowled Craig Overton, 34.

Overton does for Yorkshire’s captain via the inside-edge.

George Hill in alongside Matthew Revis on 8.

Yorkshire 124-4, 30.4 overs

Lunch: Yorkshire 115-3, 28 overs

Joe Root has 27 and Jonny Bairstow 23.

Bairstow was just dropped at second slip by Craig Overton off Migael Pretorius in the over before lunch, on 22.

Could be a huge moment early in this fixture.

Bairstow and Root have added 51 for the fourth wicket.

Bairstow on the charge

Jonny Bairstow has come out with real intent here. He has crashed two boundaries through cover, pulled another. And, coupled with three Joe Root drives down the ground, that has helped Yorkshire moved to 94-3 after 24 overs.

Bairstow 14, Root 19.

Roooot

Joe Root has just pushed two gorgeous straight driven boundaries down the ground off Alfie Ogborne’s left-arm seam. He has moved to 15 out of 78-3.

Jonny Bairstow has 4.

Yorkshire 63-3, 19.5 overs

Fin Bean caught behind James Rew bowled Migael Pretorius, 35.

Fin Bean has 35 and Joe Root 4.

Yorkshire 48-2, 10.5 overs

James Wharton caught behind James Rew bowled Lewis Gregory, 0.

Wharton was dropped at second slip the ball before but edges the next behind to Rew, who takes a good one-handed catch going to his right.

Joe Root in now alongside Fin Bean, 25.

Floodlights on

We are currently playing at Taunton with the floodlights on.

Yorkshire 26-1 in the eighth over, bowled by Craig Overton.

All set here at Taunton...

Captain Lewis Gregory has the new ball for the hosts.

Somerset win toss and bowl

Yorkshire: Adam Lyth, Fin Bean, James Wharton, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow c/w, Matthew Revis, George Hill, Dom Bess, Logan van Beek, Jhye Richardson, Jack White.

Jonny Bairstow is due to keep wicket in this game.

Sam Whiteman is not fit to play due to a testicular issue having been hit there during the Sussex draw by  seamer Henry Crocombe.

Green tinge to the pitch

There is a definite ‘bowl first’ look to the surface.

The warm-ups are in full swing here.

There is actually some rain forecast for later this morning, so we shall see how things progress.

Good morning....

From Taunton, where it’s an overcast but dry morning ahead of day one against Somerset, starting at 11am.

Yorkshire’s fourth match of the season sees them tackle a Somerset side who are quasi leaders of Division One.

They are sat a point behind table-toppers Warwickshire with two wins from three games so far. The Bears have played four, won one, lost one and drawn two.

After drawing their season-opener here against champions Nottinghamshire, they have claimed away wins at Essex and Hampshire.

Yorkshire, meanwhile, have played three, drawn two and lost one.

The White Rose were much-improved in their high-scoring draw against Sussex at Headingley last weekend, when Somerset had their bye week.

There is no Tom Kohler-Cadmore in Somerset’s squad for this game, but former Yorkshire seamer Josh Shaw is in having joined the county from Gloucestershire over the winter.

You can read our preview for today’s game, with George Hill, via the link below.

We also spoke to Adam Lyth for a bygones piece ahead of this game, Lyth reflecting on taking the winning wicket here in 2017. Again, that’s linked below.

There will be a live stream, as ever. That’s embedded at the top of the page.

Enjoy the day.
