The sun continues to shine, and all is well for Yorkshire. They have to be vigilant though, as things can change quickly.

The lead is 138, and it’s been a very handy start to the day from a Yorkshire perspective.

Just chipping away at the scoring is going to be the way forwards for Yorkshire, albeit as I type Matthew Revis has just picked up a boundary through the covers off Sonny Baker.

The Stoke City football team are staying on site at the Utilita Bowl as they prepare for a Championship clash with Southampton at St Mary’s today.

Stoke lost their opening match of the season at home to Swansea last weekend, while Southampton lost theirs away at Watford. Both were by a 2-1 scoreline.

From the Utilita Bowl, where the sun’s shining ahead of day three, which gets underway at 11am.

Yorkshire will begin it with a lead of 111 at 135-5 in their second innings.

This low-scoring, bowler-friendly game has swung this way and that over the first two days, with neither side taking hold.

Today, you’d think someone will. It could even be the last day of the fixture, in theory.

With Yorkshire holding a 17-point advantage over second-bottom Hampshire at the start of the week, you’d think a win would see the White Rose safe. If they lose, they’re right in the thick of a relegation battle.

George Hill and Adam Lyth have been Yorkshire’s standout players so far. Lyth has made the only half-century of the match, yesterday’s second-innings 51.
