9.47am – The cover on the square has been taken off now, and the players have started their warm-ups.

9.20am – Good morning from North Marine Road, where we have been met with a gale-force wind ahead of day two. The sun is out, but there is doubt over a start on time at 11am.

With such a strong wind, there is a safety issue to contend with. For example, there is a cover on the square which can’t be taken off until dies down. Also, one of the sight-screens at the Peasholm Park End has almost blown over a couple times in the last half hour.

There is talk of it easing in time to get us going on time, but clearly it’s by no means assured. If we do play a full day, there will be 104 overs in the day, which will start with Sussex on 187-9.

Before play starts, there is a members’ forum in the marquee with chair Colin Graves. That is due to get underway at 9.30am in the hospitality marquee in the far corner of the ground.

You never know, by the time the forum finishes, the marquee may well be placed by the side of the pavilion!!

Yesterday was Yorkshire’s, with Matthew Revis claiming three wickets and Ben Coad and Jordan Thompson two apiece. But there is definitely something in the pitch, and you get the feeling the home advantage is only slender at this point.

To recap on yesterday’s action, you can do so via our Match Report and reaction piece with Revis, both of which are linked below.
