YCCC v Lancashire – Scorecard

7pm – Our women’s match report from Abu Dhabi is linked below.

Abu Dhabi T20 final – YCCC W v The Blaze

6.44pm – The Blaze have won by seven wickets with an over to spare. Beaumont finished with 65, and Kathryn Bryce was outstanding with 3-8 from four overs and 28 not out.

A really encouraging weekend for Yorkshire sees them push Australian women’s national champions of 2024 Tasmania all the way, as well as The Blaze, who won last year’s Charlotte Edwards Cup. Sandwiched in between, they beat a UAE XI yesterday.

6.36pm – Our match report from day one at Headingley is linked below.

Day One Report – YCCC v Lancashire

6.28pm – The Blaze are 121-2 after 16 overs in pursuit of 143. Beaumont 51 not out and Kathryn Bryce 25 not out.

6.14pm – The Blaze are 81-2 in the 12th over chasing 143 to beat Yorkshire Women in Abu Dhabi. England batter Tammy Beaumont is 29 not out. Yorkshire desperately need her out quickly if they are going to claim a warm-up title.

6pm – Close: Day One at Headingley ends with Lancashire on 288-14 from 87 overs. Yorkshire will be very happy with their day’s work. Cliff and Hill with three wickets apiece, White, Coad, Thompson and Moriarty two apiece. Singh’s opening 36 this morning was Lancashire’s best score, though Blatherwick has clobbered a late 31 not out to end the day. Yorkshire will bat tomorrow.

The Yorkshire Women are still going in Abu Dhabi in their T20 final clash with The Blaze, who are 59-1 after nine overs chasing 143.

5.54pm – Lancashire 266-14 in the 86th over at Headingley. We’re playing until 6pm. Blaze are 51-1 in Abu Dhabi chasing 143. Cooper with the wicket.

5.32pm – WICKET! Singh caught behind for 30 by Tattersall off Coad. Lancashire 242-14 in the 81st over.

5.20pm – WICKET! Bell, for 25, has played on to Thompson. He shared 49 for the 13th wicket with Singh, who is unbeaten on 26. Lancashire 238-13 in the 78th. Thompson has two wickets for the day.

5.08pm – Yorkshire Women have posted 142-7 from their 20 overs against The Blaze in Abu Dhabi. Kalis top-scored with 60 off 43 balls and Langston hit a quick-fire 26 not out late on. Kathryn Bryce finished with excellent figures of 3-8 from four overs.

Here at Headingley, Lancashire have rallied to 237-12 in the 76th over. Singh 26 and Bell 25 – they have shared 48.

4.48pm – We have just had a raft of substitutions in the field at Headingley. If it was football, the fourth official wouldn’t know whether he was coming or going. The headline news is that Jonny Tattersall is now keeping wicket. Lancashire are 214-12 in the 71st over, bowled by Cliff.

In Abu Dhabi, Yorkshire’s Women are 104-5 after 16 overs. Kalis has 45 of them and remains at the crease.

4.40pm – Jafer Chohan has got through four overs so far for 15. Moriarty, meanwhile, has been the pick of the three frontline spinners used, with 2-14 from eight overs. Lancashire are 208-12 after 68 overs. Singh 14, Bell 8.

4.33pm – Yorkshire Women are 69-4 in the 12th over against The Blaze in their Abu Dhabi T20 final. Kalis has 32. Ward just out for 21.

4.17pm – WICKET! Fonseka trapped lbw by Moriarty, 12. Lancashire 189-12 in the 61st over.

4.10pm – Yorkshire Women under early pressure in Abu Dhabi. They are 26-3 in the seventh over having lost openers Campbell and Winfield-Hill cheaply, added to Thomas. Kalis and Ward, have 7 and 6 respectively.

Rebecca Duckworth

Picture by YCCC. Rebecca Duckworth impressed with 47 in yesterday’s win over a UAE XI to qualify Yorkshire for the final. Her runs will be required against The Blaze today.

4.07pm – We’re up and running after tea here at Headingley. Moriarty bowling to opener Singh, who has returned to the crease. Lancashire 182-11 after 57 overs. Bess to bowl from the Howard Stand End.

3.51pm – Yorkshire Women are batting first against The Blaze, and they are 1-1 in the second over. Ami Campbell the early wicket.

The White Rose team for today’s final, under lights, is: Winfield-Hill, Campbell, Thomas, Kalis, Ward, Duckworth, Langston, Slater, Fackrell, Cooper, Wrightson.

YCCC W v The Blaze Stream and Scorecard

3.20pm – The Headingley scoreboard has been left all confused by Lancashire being bowled out but continuing to bat. At least it was nice and apologetic!

Just speaking to Bob, the scoreboard operator here at Headingley, they’ve never encountered this situation before. However, he’s sorted it now and normal service has resumed. Lancashire 161-10.

3.17pm – Harry Duke has now taken over the wicketkeeping duties from Jonny Bairstow, after 50 overs. Lancashire 154-10.

3.04pm – WICKET! Thompson traps Barnard lbw. One of those where you say immediately, ‘That’s Out’. Lancashire are all out for 153 inside 47 overs. Yorkshire will continue to bowl, with opener Fonseka returning to the crease.

Of the 10 wickets to fall, each of Yorkshire’s seamers has struck at least once. Coad 1, White 2, Thompson 1, Cliff 3, Hill 3. The spin of Bess and Lyth have only bowled three overs between them.

2.56pm – WICKET! Cliff gets Academy batter George Harris caught behind for 5. Lancashire are 147-9.

2.46pm – WICKET! Bailey lbw Cliff, 11. Lancashire are 142-8 having lost three wickets for two runs.

2.43pm – WICKET! Second wicket in the over, third in all for Hill, who has left-handed Sutton caught behind. Lancashire are 142-7 after 43 overs.

George Hill

2.41pm – WICKET! Boyden has been bowled by Hill, 12. Lancashire are 140-6 in the 43rd over.

2.34pm – Lancashire have moved to 136-5 in the afternoon sunshine. Boyden 12, Bailey 6. Hill and Cliff are in operation. It’s been an impressive effort so far from Yorkshire. They haven’t run through the Red Rose by any stretch, but pretty much all the seamers have been on the mark.

2.08pm – WICKET! White claims a second as Blatherwick picks out cover (Wharton) to fall for 25. Wickets in successive overs for Yorkshire, who have started the afternoon well. 118-5 in the 35th over.

2.06pm – WICKET! Aspinwall has been bowled by Coad, bowling from the Howard Stand End. Not often he bowls from that end of Headingley. Aspinwall falls for 32 to a peach of a nip-backer after a couple of away-swingers. 118-4.

1.01pm: Lunch – Lancashire are 102-3 after 30 overs. Wickets for White, Cliff and Hill. Aspinwall 28, Blatherwick 17.

During the morning session, a number of Yorkshire players have been netting next to the East Stand, and it was good to see Matthew Revis and Matt Milnes bowling as they continue their recoveries from stress fractures of the back.

12.51pm – Dom Bess has just bowled his first over. Lancashire 89-3 in the 28th over. Aspinwall 26, Blatherwick 10. These two have shared 30.

12.35pm – Lancashire are 74-3 in the 23rd over. Aspinwall has 15 and Blatherwick 6. Hill 1-4 from three overs.

12.17pm – WICKET! Singh lbw to Hill, in his first over, for 36. Lancashire are 59-3 in the 18th over.

12.14pm – Late last week, one of our new overseas signings Jordan Buckingham secured the Australian State double with South Australia, helping them win the four-day Sheffield Shield with a win over Queensland. Fast bowler Jordan will join us for four Championship matches in May.

11.46am – WICKET! Cliff strikes with his fifth ball, Bell caught at third slip by Bean, 9. Lancashire 41-2 in the 11th over. Tom Aspinwall comes to the crease.

11.43am – Double change for Yorkshire, with Thompson and Cliff now into the attack. Lancashire 41-1 in the 11th.

11.29am – WICKET! Fonseka is trapped on the crease by White and departs lbw for 8. Lancashire are 20-1 in the eighth over. George Bell comes to the crease, joining Singh, who has 12.

11.16am – Very tidy start from Coad and White. Lancashire 5-0 after four overs.

Picture by Allan McKenzie/SWpix.com. New signing Jack White has taken the new ball in today’s friendly against Lancashire.

11.07am – Yorkshire will be rotating players on and off the field here throughout the next two days. They have, however, started with Bairstow c&w, Hill, Lyth, Bean, Tattersall, Thompson, Malan, Wharton, Cliff, White and Coad.

11.05am – Lancashire 1-0 after one over. White sharing the new ball.

11am – Ben Coad has the new ball, and Kesh Fonseka and Harry Singh are opening for Lancashire. Jonny Bairstow keeping wicket in a beanie hat, and Jack White in a sun hat.

10.45am – Yorkshire: Bairstow c, Wharton, Revis, Duke, Hill, Luxton, Moriarty, Thompson, Bess, White, Bean, Tattersall, Cliff, Lyth, Coad, Malan, Chohan.

Lancashire: Bailey c, Singh, Bell, Fonseka, Hartley, Aspinwall, Blatherwick, Boyden, Sutton, Stanley, Mughal, Barnard, Harris.

10am – Good morning from Headingley, where it’s lovely and sunny but pretty chilly ahead of the Yorkshire men’s two-day friendly against Lancashire, starting at 11am.

This is a behind-closed-doors affair and is the side’s only UK-based friendly ahead of the new summer, which starts at the weekend. Yorkshire face Hampshire at the Utilita Bowl on Friday in Division One of the Rothesay County Championship.

We will be keeping you up to date with all the action, as we will from Abu Dhabi, where Yorkshire’s women are in T20 action. Not just that, but they are in the final of the Abu Dhabi Women’s T20 competition this afternoon, facing Nottinghamshire side The Blaze (3.45pm UK).

Rich Pyrah’s side have lost one and won one this weekend, beating a UAE XI convincingly yesterday to advance on net run-rate. They have qualified ahead of Tasmania and county sides Essex and Surrey, who will both be in Tier 1 this summer alongside The Blaze.

Here at Headingley, Yorkshire are facing a Lancashire side who are gunning for promotion back to Division One this season having suffered surprise relegation last September.

We are awaiting some team news, but Lancashire will be batting first.

The expectation is that Yorkshire will field a stronger side than their visitors, who have left the likes of Keaton Jennings, Jimmy Anderson, Luke Wells and Josh Bohannon at home. A good number of their squad only completed a training camp at Desert Springs in Spain on Friday.

Jonny Bairstow and Anthony McGrath are in discussion next to the nets, positioned on the East Stand side of the ground. The cut strip for this fixture is Western Terrace side.

The men’s fixture isn’t being live streamed, but you can view the women’s final later on. We will post details just before that starts. There will be a scorecard for the men’s game. We will also add that to the top of this page just before we get going in an hour.
