“The batting, I think that’s been coming for a while,” said coach Gale, who confirmed captain Steve Patterson’s return to face Lancashire after three games out with a broken finger.
“We’ve been heading in the right direction over the course of the season and working really hard.
“It’s good to see the lads get their rewards.
“It wasn’t a great pitch for bowling on, a very good one for batting on. But you still have to get the runs. Hopefully, going forwards, that will give some individuals a lot of confidence.
“We take a lot of confidence even though we haven’t got the win.
“The batting display was real solid, and it’s the first time in a long time we’ve been able to sit back and enjoy a comfortable performance with the bat.
“We know it’s going to be a different challenge against Lancashire.
“There’s usually a bit in the pitch at Headingley. It won’t be as flat. But if we go about it in the same fashion and put runs on the board, we’ll always be in the game.
“Lancashire are chasing their tails a bit with only two to play. But they’re a good side and confident as well having won a game recently and securing a tie they shouldn’t have.”

Tea report
Yorkshire will secure 12 points from their draw against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.
The White Rose secured a first-innings lead of 50 with 46 overs remaining in the match, and Notts have reached tea at 53-0 from 16.
Yorkshire fell narrowly short of posting 500 as Tim Bresnan dragged Jake Libby’s part-time off-spin to mid-on, with Samit Patel wrapping up the innings on 498.
The former England left-arm spinner finished with 6-114.
Yorkshire’s new seamer Mathew Pillans bowled a lively eight-over spell at the start of the Notts’ second innings, rapping Ben Slater on the glove with a short ball.
Slater will resume after tea on 24 and Kraigg Brathwaite on 23.
Yorkshire will head into next week’s Roses match at Emerald Headingley second bottom in Division One and a point behind their arch-rivals.

Lunch report
Tom Kohler-Cadmore advanced from 92 to 106, posting his maiden County Championship century for Yorkshire, as their match against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge heads for a draw.
The White Rose secured a fifth batting bonus point in a thrilling first seven overs of the day, with Yorkshire moving from 357-5 from 103 overs to 403-6 from 110.
Replying to Notts’ first-innings 448, Yorkshire have reached lunch at 484-8, leading by 36.
Kohler-Cadmore was helped along by Tim Bresnan, but the former was bowled by Samit Patel as he tried to cut with the fourth ball of the 110th over.
That left Yorkshire at 395-6, with new man Matthew Waite needing to hit five from two balls to secure the point.
He subsequently hit his first two balls for four over cover and straight of mid-on.
After Kohler-Cadmore reached his hundred off 225 balls, Bresnan reached 50 off 82. He will resume after lunch on 72.
Waite hit two leg-side sixes off Patel’s left-arm spin immediately before offering up a catch to short cover off a leading edge to fall for 43, leaving the score at 469-7 in the 133rd.
Mathew Pillans was then trapped lbw at the start of the morning’s final over by Patel, who now has five wickets.
Yorkshire will take 12 points from this match having posted 400 for the first time this season, and they will head into next week’s Roses match at Emerald Headingley second bottom and a point behind their arch-rivals.

We have been greeted by another sunny morning, but fingers crossed the rain doesn’t come in at lunchtime like it did yesterday.
This match is heading for a draw, with Yorkshire taking either eleven or 12 points. There is a fifth batting bonus point on offer this morning, with the White Rose at 357-5 from 103 overs of their first innings. So 43 more in seven overs for the point.
I really am in two minds as to whether they should go for it.
Yes, every point is crucial, and one point could make all the difference. But given Yorkshire play the three teams closest to them in the final three weeks, that makes it less likely to matter.
