10.36am – We’ve just published a report from Yorkshire’s Disability D40 win yesterday. Here’s a brief summary of events against Surrey…..

Captain Matt Bateman’s impressive all-round display – four wickets and 40 not out – led Yorkshire’s D40 side to their first win of the National Quest League season at the third attempt, beating Surrey by seven wickets at Higham yesterday.

Having won the toss, Bateman struck four times to bowl Surrey out for 154 inside 39 overs, with Kyle Clayton, Cameron Cooper, Owen Morris and Alex Jervis striking once added to a run out. Only nine visiting wickets fell, all from 37-0.

In reply, Bateman came to the crease at 52-2 in the 14th over and batted through the remainder of the innings, facing 69 balls in all.

He shared an unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 98 in 16 overs with Cameron Sweeney, who overtook his skipper and top-scored with 53 off 41 balls.

9.35am – Good morning from Wantage Road. It would be an exaggeration to suggest there’s not a cloud in the sky, but it’s nonetheless a glorious start to day four in the South Midlands. An 11am start is in the offing.

Yorkshire will begin the day on 156-5 in their second innings, leading by 217. Shan Masood is unbeaten on 82.

The visiting dressing room are looking at around another 120 runs before declaring to get bowling for victory. Fingers crossed, they can achieve that just before lunch, leaving themselves in the region of 70-75 overs to bowl Northamptonshire out again.
