11.31am – YORKSHIRE WIN!!!!!!
11.28am – Hill and Thompson are now tasked with wrapping things up. They’ve replaced Coad and Fisher. Glamorgan 209-9, including Harris on 49.
11.22am – Glamorgan have advanced to 194-9 in the 66th over. Harris 35, Morris 4. They’re chasing 396.
11.05am – WICKET! Gorvin trapped lbw by Fisher, who has taken two in the over. Nearly there now. It’s 168-9 in the 62nd over. Yorkshire are also level on the over-rate.
11.01am – WICKET! Tribe bowled by Fisher, 58. Glamorgan are 168-8 in the 62nd over. 396-target.
10.58am – Glamorgan have moved to 166-7. Tribe 58 and Harris 19. They’re chasing 396.
10.34am – Glamorgan 142-7 after the day’s opening over. Coad sharing early morning bowling duties.
10.30am – The players are out in the middle. Harris to face Fisher, with Glamorgan on 141-7 chasing 396. Harris has 8, Tribe 50.
9.52am – The scoreboard has just kicked into life here Sophia Gardens, and it’s clear that Yorkshire have an extra job this morning added to the three wickets they require. They are minus one on the over-rate.
8.50am – Good morning from Sophia Gardens, where it’s an overcast start to day four, which will begin at 10.30am.
There’s the threat of rain around from mid-afternoon onwards, but Glamorgan have quite the task on their hands to take it that far. They will resume on 141-7 in pursuit of 396.
Should Yorkshire win this, they will preserve the pre-game 15-point lead over Middlesex and go into next week’s clash with Northamptonshire at Headingley – the final game of 2024 – needing a maximum of 10 points to seal second place in the table and promotion. And that 10 points is assuming Middlesex beat leaders Sussex at Hove with a maximum haul of 24 points.
Yesterday was a fascinating day. Yorkshire were put under early pressure with the bat, falling from 116-1 overnight in their second innings to 273 all out. It wasn’t the dominance they ideally hoped for, but you still felt they had more than enough runs on the board with that 396-target. So it’s proved.
Ben Coad claimed four of the seven Glamorgan wickets to fall, including his 50th in this season’s Championship. If he takes two of the final three to fall this morning, he would reach 300 first-class career wickets.
