“It’s been ok (the day’s play). We’re in a good position still. I would still say it’s been our day. I just think the pitch has died out a bit. We knew it was slow all the time, but it was nipping around a bit first morning and first day.
“Ideally we could have got a few more runs, but we were already four down. That was tricky. But to get a 96-run lead and then those couple of wickets and control the run-rate like we have, I still think it’s been a very positive day.
“We’ve seen how it’s gone over the last two days, if we get a couple early on we could really fly through them.”
6.41pm – Close Durham enjoy the better of the day as they close on 106-2 from 51 overs of their second innings, leading by 10. Lees has 58 and Bedingham 18.

5.54pm Steel gone! He’s been run out by a combination of Coad and Tattersall, the latter collecting an initial throw and then throwing the stumps down at the non-striker’s end after the batsmen tried to run three. 71-2.
5.36pm Durham 68-1 with 16 overs left in the day. Yorkshire’s lead is 28. The pitch has definitely eased in favour of the batsmen. It’s by no means a batting paradise, but the bowlers aren’t getting much help either. It’s gone quite sluggish. Lees 41 and Steel 9.

4.57pm There’s the first! Dickson caught behind off Patterson – inside edge – and Tattersall does the rest. 47-1.
4.48pm Durham are edging their way towards parity. They are 46-0 and trail by 48. We have 26 overs in the day, and Yorkshire would dearly love three or four wickets just to reassert the authority which has been loosened today.
Tea report Yorkshire were bowled out for 199 during the second afternoon against Durham at Emirates Riverside, taking a first-innings lead of 96.
The White Rose narrowly missed out on their first batting point in the Bob Willis Trophy, something they would have achieved upon reaching 200.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be, and Durham have since replied with a second-innings 38-0 from 19 overs. They trail by 58 and are very much back in the game.
Yorkshire began the afternoon session on 164-8 in reply to Durham’s 103 all out.
They lost Matthew Fisher four balls into the session when he chipped Chris Rushworth to mid-on without further addition to the score.
Thankfully, Ben Coad led some important tail-end resistance with five fours in 28 off 31 balls. He struck the ball sweetly and aggressively in a 10th-wicket partnership of 35 with Jack Shutt (seven not out).
But Coad feathered Paul Coughlin behind to wrap up the innings in its 63rd over, leaving Durham with 50 overs to bat before close.
It has so far been a quiet start to their second innings, aside from the odd appeal from the Yorkshire bowlers.
Lees will begin the evening session on 24 and Sean Dickson 14.

3.13pm It’s been a pretty quiet start to Durham’s second innings, aside from a couple of appeals for lbw and caught in the slips (possible inside-edge onto pad from Lees against Coad). The hosts have moved to 15-0 after seven overs and trail by 81.
2.38pm Yorkshire have been bowled out for 199, missing out on a batting point by one run. Coad is caught behind off Coughlin for 28. A visiting lead of 96 with 50 overs remaining in the day’s play.

Lunch report Yorkshire increased their first-innings lead over Durham to 61 by lunch on day two at Emirates Riverside, but the hosts had much the better of the morning.
They reduced Yorkshire from 84-4 overnight – in reply to 103 all out – to 164-8 from 50 overs at the break.
The White Rose will be frustrated that, as of yet, they have not made the most of the advantage their bowlers gave them during yesterday’s opening day of the Bob Willis Trophy.
Harry Brook batted fluently for 41, only to fall as one of the trio of morning wickets when he miscued a pull at Matty Potts to deepish mid-wicket.
Dawid Malan was the first wicket to go today, superbly caught behind by a diving Ned Eckersley off an inside-edge for 30, Chris Rushworth taking the wicket. That left Yorkshire at 120-5 in the 32nd over, the 10th of the morning.
Brook then fell with the score on 154 in the 41st before Jordan Thompson shouldered arms at Ben Raine and was trapped lbw for one in the next over.
Those two wickets in seven balls left Yorkshire at 157-7.
Jonny Tattersall also shouldered arms off the last ball of the session, only to be bowled by Raine for 17.
Batting conditions remain challenging, and Matthew Fisher will begin the afternoon on one with either Jack Shutt or Ben Coad for company.
A rain break of just less than 15 minutes interrupted the morning and cut three overs from the day’s allotted 97. The seven overs lost yesterday were due to be made up today.
1.12pm – Lunch Yorkshire have reached 164-8 from 50 overs, a lead of 61 on first innings. Unfortunately, they have just lost Tattersall bowled by Raine (attempting to leave alone). He’s gone for 17, enhancing Durham’s productive morning. They had removed Malan, Brook and Thompson before that Tattersall dismissal. The White Rose still in the ascendency, however.

Good morning from Emirates Riverside, where we begin day two of our Bob Willis Trophy match against Durham. The weather is set fair, and we should be up and running at 11am.
Fourteen wickets fell yesterday, a day which Yorkshire had much the better of despite a batting wobble late on.
Durham were bowled out for 103 before Yorkshire closed on 84-4, a deficit of only 19.
Yorkshire’s four-man seam attack, aided by useful conditions, were exceptional yesterday. They never gave Durham a moment’s rest. Ruthless, relentless – both descriptions are apt.
Ben Coad and Jordan Thompson shared seven wickets.
If they can get a lead of 75-100 today, they will be in a very, very strong position.
