Tom Kohler-Cadmore says Yorkshire are ready and raring to go ahead of Friday’s Specsavers County Championship opener against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.
Kohler-Cadmore’s career best 176 off 235 balls was one of the two standout innings in the county’s 489-8 declared on day two of their three-day friendly against Leeds/Bradford MCC Universities at Weetwood.
Replying to 119, Kohler-Cadmore shared a double century fifth-wicket stand with Jonny Tattersall, also aged 24, who added an unbeaten 135 off 211 balls.
The England Lions batsman praised Tattersall and believes there is more to come from the White Rose wicketkeeper after his maiden first-class century.
“I think everyone’s been raring to go since mid-February to be honest,” he said. “We’ve been ready to get outside. When we got back from Potch (midway through last month), we were flying and ready to go.
“This game has been perfect preparation leading into the season.
“Now it’s up to us to go out and do it against Notts.”
