Tom Kohler-Cadmore is unsure how a dry fourth day at Edgbaston would play out, but Yorkshire’s not out batsman wants something competitive to play for against Warwickshire on the final day of the 2019 summer.
Kohler-Cadmore hit an unbeaten 165 during the opening two sessions of Monday’s first day as the White Rose dominated to reach 261-2, including first-class debutant Tom Loten’s composed 58.
Unfortunately, since then, days two and three have been washed out, leaving a result by conventional means close to impossible with only 96 overs remaining in the game.
That, says the 25-year-old, leaves two options.
“To be honest, if we set up a game we need some more,” he said.
“Also, we only need 140 more for 400, so we could decide to set up a game like that if they wanted to go for it.
“Or we could just bat for 400 and try and get that (five batting bonus points for 400 inside 110 overs) as quickly as we possibly can and then have two sessions to get nine wickets for the three bowling points.
“That’s all above my pay grade, but it would be nice to go into the last session with something on it instead of just going through the motions until we shake hands.”
