Two budding Yorkshire cricketers have been awarded scholarships from the Brian Johnston Memorial Trust.

Leah Dobson and Lucy Lindley will both receive £300 from the Trust for the 2020 season to help fund their cricket activities after being identified as talented young players.

Dobson, an 18-year-old all-rounder, has played in Yorkshire’s county age group teams from the age of 12, making her First XI debut in 2018. Lindley, a 15-year-old bowling all-rounder, has also been involved in county age group teams from the age of 12.

Jane Hildreth, Director at the Yorkshire Cricket Board said: “I am delighted to see that Leah and Lucy have received this recognition. Both are very hard working and have go to great lengths to attend training sessions and matches.

“I hope that these scholarships will benefit the players hugely and help with their development in cricket.”
