Pre-Match Guide: England vs Sri Lanka, Metro Bank One Day International

Gates will open at 10.30am 

You can enter the ground through the following gates: 

Gate B: St Michael’s Lane 

Gate C: St Michael’s Lane (Hospitality Guests only) 

Gate G: Kirkstall Lane. Ideal for arrivals from Headingley train station and for those using the Park and Stride at Beckett Park. 

We encourage all spectators to get to the ground as early as possible to avoid queues upon entry.  

Hours of Play 

1st Innings – 12.30pm 

Scheduled Interval– 4pm 

2nd Innings – 4.30pm 

Scheduled Close of Play – 8pm 

There is limited availability of tickets left for the game and they can be purchased our website: 

Tickets 

Spectators who opted for digital or app tickets should have these available to download now. The QR code that will scan spectators in at the turnstile, will appear in the ticket app shortly before the start of the game. 

The ticket office will be open from 9am until 30 minutes after the close of play. 

A temporary ticket office will be in situ at the Kirkstall Lane entrance. 

Ticket collections will be from the St Michael’s Lane ticket office only. 

Beckett Park, Park and Stride. LS6 3PW. 

Car parking is available at Beckett Park which is approximately a 12 minute walk from Gate G. This is operated by a third party company and is £10 per car or £15 per minibus. We encourage spectators to bring both a cash and card payment option. 

Headingley is in a residential area. We therefore ask spectators to be mindful of this and not park across driveways. Please also respect the local traffic cones that will be placed in nearby residential streets.  

Blue Badge Parking 

Please note that all Blue Badge parking is sold out for this fixture. There are a number of on-street blue badge parking spaces located on Kirkstall Lane. These are on a first come-first served basis.

Headingley Stadium is located in a densely populated, residential area. We therefore recommend that where possible, spectators use the large variety of public transport options available to them.

GETTING TO HEADINGLEY 

Road Closure 

Please note that a road closure order will be in place temporarily on St Michael’s Lane before and after play, as well as the interval to allow supporters to exit the ground.  

Trains 

Headingley Stadium is served by two train stations, Burley Park and Headingley. Please consult timetables before making your journey. 

There will be several extra services before and after play each day. All additional services will start and end at Leeds and Horsforth and stop at Headingley and Burley Park. 

Taxi Ranks 

There are designated taxi ranks available on Kirkstall Lane and North Lane outside the Sainsburys Local. 

Drop Off Zone 

There will be no drop off facility for taxis or cars on St Michael’s Lane. This will be limited to Kirkstall Lane only. 

Bike Racks 

These are located inside the ground and are left at the owner’s risk and discretion. 

If you arrive by bike, please alert the nearest steward who will direct you to the nearest bike rack.  

The Club has a RESPECT campaign for those attending any domestic or international match at Headingley, Scarborough and York. If you have suffered or witness any anti-social behaviour at the match, please text the word Respect to 60650. Spectators can report this anonymously to a member of the team here at Headingley. 

There is no place for anti-social behaviour in cricket or wider society.

Matchday Information 

Spectators should be aware of the prohibited and restricted items when attending Headingley: 

Prohibited Items  

  • Alcohol 
  • Aerosols 
  • Animals, except assistance dogs 
  • Banners 
  • Cameras (other than as stated in ground regulation 16) 
  • Cans 
  • Dangerous/hazardous items or weapons 
  • Fireworks and Flares 
  • Glass 
  • Luggage bags (see below for restricted bag items) 
  • Non prescription drugs 

Restricted Items 

  • All bags are restricted to no larger than 18 x 12 x 12 inches / 45 x 30 x 30cm and can fit under a stadium seat.  
  • Up to 2 litres of water in a plastic sealed container 
  • Soft drinks in a plastic sealed container 
  • Refillable water bottles are allowed 
  • Pre-approved musical instruments only 
  • Flags must be fire resistant and of participating countries only for international matches. They must be no larger than 3ft x 5ft / 1m x 1.5m. 
  • Cutlery (no metal cutlery allowed) 
  • No pushchairs are permitted in the stands. Pushchairs are stored at the owner’s risk.  
  • Limited bicycle storage – stored at owners’ risk 
  • Fancy dress is only permitted in blocks A and B of the Western Terrace. No masks or outfits/accessories deemed offensive or dangerous by YCCC will be permitted.   

Laptops, iPads, and Kindles are permitted so long as they are not used for illegal gambling activity.  

Please note that there is no luggage drop facility at Headingley Stadium.  

Spectators with any accessible requirements are encouraged to contact us in advance via the WelcoMe service on the Yorkshire Cricket website.

Accessibility 

Our sensory room will be in operation for this fixture and bookings can be made through WelcoMe. Please note that the Sensory Room will not have a pitch view for this fixture. 

Western Terrace: 

Ice Cream, Coffee, Street Kitchen, Southern Fried Chicken, Baked Potato, Fish & Chip, Carvery, German Sausage, Pizza, Indian 

Behind Block H: 

Wraps & Fries, Pizza, Brownies 

Behind the North-East Score board:  

Street Kitchen, Coffee, Ice Cream

Retail Bars: 

There will be various retail bars around the ground, the following bars will be open from 10:30am: 

Western Terrace, behind the North East Scoreboard, East Stand (premium bar), Howard Stand Lower tier. 

The remaining bars will open from 11am, these are located in the below areas: 

Behind Block H (Craft beer and Pimms), Howard Stand undercroft and Howard Stand Upper tier. 

Hospitality guests are encouraged to access the ground via the dedicated Hospitality entrance at Gate C on St Michael’s Lane where you’ll be given a wristband and directed to your hospitality area.

The Yorkshire cricket shops will be open at various points around the stadium.  

The St Michael’s Lane shop will be open from 9am until 30 minutes after the close of play. 

The shop unit at the Kirkstall Lane entrance will be open from 10.30am until after the close of play.  

Scorecards will be available from the YCCC Supporters Association Cabin behind the East Stand.

The Multi-Faith room is located at the entrance to the East Stand which is easily accessed from the St Michael’s Lane turnstiles. 

Please remove your shoes when entering the facility. Foot baths are available. 

The room is available to people of all faiths, and we ask that all spectators please respect everyone when using these facilities.  

Spectators are urged to consider the weather forecast before making their journey to Headingley. As Headingley is an open-air stadium, consideration must be given to sheltering from the rain. We encourage spectators to consider all weather conditions by bringing an umbrella, sun cream and their own bottled water.  

Spectators are reminded that in the event of inclement weather prior to the game starting, any decision on the prospects of play will not be made by the Club, but by the umpires. Should the Club need to communicate any prospects of play this will be done at the earliest opportunity once the requisite information has been passed to Club officials by the umpires 

The minimum age for a child (anyone under the age of 18) to attend an event unaccompanied is 14 years old. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult*. It is the responsibility of the ticket purchaser to check before buying tickets that they comply with these age restrictions. Whilst there is a minimum age restriction in place, parents/carers are responsible for deciding whether their child (aged 14-17) needs to be accompanied by a responsible adult based on their general developmental maturity and their awareness of the potential risks.
