Dickie Bird’s A Question of Sport

On Thursday 29th January we are hosting what will be a fun night where, although expert knowledge of sport is not required in Dickie’s Question of Sport, it would be a help!

The event, which is being staged in the Headingley Pavilion at the home of Yorkshire CCC, will provide another opportunity to raise funds for The Dickie Bird Foundation.

The Foundation offer grants to children under 17 years of age on receipt of their application, to participate in the sport of their choice, to the best of their ability, irrespective of their background, social circumstances, culture or ethnicity and to ensure that, in doing so, they improve their chances both inside and outside sport.

Dickie had a tremendous knowledge of many sports and the quiz was one of his favourite events.  This followed his appearances on the BBC “Question of sport”.

Included on the night will be:

  • A two-course meal with coffee/tea to be followed by Question of Sport (team game) maximum 8 in team, minimum 6.
  • A cash prize of £100 for the winning team – all team questions, no individual rounds.
  • A raffle and auction.
  • Framesmart sports memorabilia available to purchase.

All of the proceeds, after the deduction of payment for food, etc will go to Dickie’s charity – The Dickie Bird Foundation.

The event will start at 7.00pm for 7.30pm. Dress code is smart casual.

Formalities are expected to be concluded by 10.30 pm with the bar closing at 11.00pm.

We are expecting considerable interest in the event and an Early Bird lower price offer is available at £32 per person if booked and paid for by 31 December.  After 31 December the price is £35.  Please be advised that Early Birds will also go into the draw for two bottles of sparkling wine on the night.
