Yorkshire enjoyed a near perfect second day of their Specsavers County Championship match against Nottinghamshire at Scarborough and are now on course for victory.
The White Rose are strengthening a title claim which coach Andrew Gale has regularly played down recently.
They started their 11th of 14 fixtures third in Division One and 38 points behind leaders Essex, with Somerset sandwiched in between.
A fifth win now looks on the cards after Notts, replying to 232, slipped from 41-0 to 184 all out in their first innings before Adam Lyth led the home side’s strong second innings either side of tea.
Scarborough CC junior Lyth fell for 81 off 143 balls in 177-2 from 50 overs.
He shared 108 for the second wicket with Gary Ballance, 52 not out.
Yorkshire claimed all 10 Notts first-innings wickets inside the first 44 overs of the day, four of them going to South African quick Duanne Olivier.
New ball partner Ben Coad set the ball rolling with the day’s first ball when he had Ben Slater caught behind.
Coad struck three times. He had Joe Clarke caught behind as winless Notts, bottom of Division One, fell to 94-4 after 28 overs and then Luke Wood caught at second slip after lunch – 173-8 in the 58th.
Olivier claimed the second and third wickets of the day.
He forced opener Jake Libby to play onto his leg stump before Notts captain Chris Nash punched a return catch to fall for 33.
Ben Duckett hit the first of four sixes conceded by overseas left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj over long-on and onto the pavilion roof, dislodging a tile or two.
But he fell shortly afterwards for 13 when he played on to the same bowler off his pad in the final 20 minutes of the morning, leaving Notts at 125-5 in the 42nd over.
Tom Moores, the Notts top-scorer with 48, hit the other three sixes off Maharaj, including getting off the mark by thudding one into the sight screen at the Peasholm Park End just before lunch.
Liam Patterson-White edged Steve Patterson behind trying to leave the penultimate ball of the morning alone, with Notts 131-6 in the 47th.
And Paul Coughlin was the first to fall after lunch when he skied Maharaj to mid-on, where Harry Brook took a smart catch peddling backwards (132-7 in the 50th).
Moores dominated a partnership of 41 for the eighth wicket with Wood, heaving two sixes over mid-wicket off Maharaj – one out of the ground and the other well caught in the crowd on the Popular Bank stand.
After Wood fell to Coad (3-58 from 16 overs), Olivier had Moores caught behind with the first ball back after a 10-minute rain delay, leaving the visitors 179-9 in the 61st over.
And, five balls later, Olivier had Luke Fletcher caught in the gully off a top-edge to wrap up the innings and finish with 4-60 from 17 overs.
They were his second best figures of the season after 5-96 in the opening week draw at Trent Bridge.
With 18 overs to face before tea, Lyth and Will Fraine more than doubled Yorkshire’s 48-run by reaching 61-0.
Fraine (24) fell lbw to Fletcher in the second over of the evening – 64-1 in the 20th – before Lyth was joined by a fluent looking Ballance.
Either side of reaching 50 off 95 balls, Lyth swept Patterson-White’s left-arm spin for six and lofted him over long-on for another.
Ballance then reached his fifty off 81 balls and topped 900 Championship runs for the season before Lyth swept Patterson-White to short fine-leg in the 49th over.

“I think that’s been a tremendous day.
“If you look back at day one and that first hour when we were batting, it’s crazy to think about the position we are in now.
“Every single guy fought hard, and Ben Coad with the first ball of the morning set us up. As a unit, we got stuck in and came out on top.
“Then it was excellent batting from Will Fraine and Adam Lyth and Gary Ballance as well. It seems like this whole season he has been doing so well.
“This morning, the ball was nipping around and there was a bit of swing. But the longer the sun was out, the more the wicket calmed down.
“I felt pretty good today. Every game I play, I’m just trying to get better by working on certain things. At the end of the day, I’m very happy with my performance and the bowling unit’s as a whole.”

“Without a shadow of a doubt (Yorkshire had the better of the day).
“Probably the best time to bowl here is in the morning, and they made use of the conditions.
“We’re disappointed because we had a very good chance to get into a really strong position in the game, and we’re going to have to bowl very well in the morning to keep ourselves in it.
“Chris Nash won’t score many better 33s. He will be frustrated because he was playing so well and got on top of the bowlers and played a loose shot.
“For all the batters, they know they’re going to have to bat well second innings. But the first job is to get them out. It was good to get Lyth at the end there.
“We need to get some wickets in the morning, create some pressure and see what we’ve got left to chase.
“Tom (Moores) played well. He counter-attacked and picked his shots. It was a shame the rain came when it did. It just broke up a partnership which was forming.”
