“I think that’s been a tremendous day.
“If you look back at day one and that first hour when we were batting, it’s crazy to think about the position we are in now.
“Every single guy fought hard, and Ben Coad with the first ball of the morning set us up. As a unit, we got stuck in and came out on top.
“Then it was excellent batting from Will Fraine and Adam Lyth and Gary Ballance as well. It seems like this whole season he has been doing so well.
“This morning, the ball was nipping around and there was a bit of swing. But the longer the sun was out, the more the wicket calmed down.
“I felt pretty good today. Every game I play, I’m just trying to get better by working on certain things. At the end of the day, I’m very happy with my performance and the bowling unit’s as a whole.”
6.37pm Close. What a day for Yorkshire, who finish on 177-2 from 50 overs with a lead of 225. Ballance 52 no.

Tea
Yorkshire grabbed their Specsavers County Championship clash with Nottinghamshire at Scarborough by the scruff of th neck during a dominant second afternoon session.
Notts, replying to a first-innings 232, were bowled out for 184 midway through the afternoon before Yorkshire openers Adam Lyth and Will Fraine advanced their second innings to 61-0 from 18 overs, leading by 109.
Earlier, Yorkshire reduced their visitors from 41-0 overnight and then 131-6 at lunch.
Duanne Olivier completed a haul of 4-60, his second best haul of the season added to 5-96 during the opening round of the summer in a draw at Trent Bridge.
Tom Moores top-scored for Notts with 48, including three leg-side off South African Test spinner Keshav Maharaj.
Paul Coughlin was the first to fall after lunch when he skied Maharaj’s left-arm spin to mid-on, where Harry Brook took a smart catch peddling backwards. That left Notts at 132-7 in the 50th over.
Moores then dominated a 43-run stand with Luke Wood, who edged Ben Coad (3-58 from 16 overs) to second slip in the 58th.
Moores’ dismissal – caught behind off Olivier – came with the first ball back after a 10-minute rain delay as Notts slipped to 179-9 in the 61st.
And, five balls later, Olivier had Luke Fletcher caught in the gully off a top-edge to leave Yorkshire with 18 overs to bat before tea.
Lyth and Fraine then calmly more than doubled Yorkshire’s lead, and they will begin the evening on 31 and 22 not out respectively.
4pm Four overs to bowl before tea and Yorkshire are 45-0, leading by 93. Fraine has 20 and Lyth 18. It has been a rather serene hour of play.
3.31pm Yorkshire are 24-0 in the eighth over of their second innings, leading by 72.

Lunch Yorkshire’s bowlers hit Nottinghamshire for six during a superb second morning at Scarborough to undermine the visitors hopes of a first-innings lead.
Notts, replying to 232, started the day on 41-0 and have reached lunch at 131-6.
Ben Coad struck twice, including a wicket with the first ball of the day, as did Duanne Olivier added to one for fellow South African Keshav Maharaj and Steve Patterson.
Coad immediately had Ben Slater caught behind by Jonny Tattersall for 29 at the start of the 18th over before he later removed Joe Clarke via the same method as the visitors slipped to 94-4 after 28.
Sandwiched in between, Olivier forced opener Jake Libby (18) to play onto his leg stump before Notts captain Chris Nash punched a return catch to fall for 33.
Ben Duckett hoisted Maharaj for a huge six over long-on which landed on the pavilion roof here at North Marine Road and dislodged a tile or two in the process.
After that, Duckett only scored two off his next 26 balls.
Liam Patterson-White offered a sharp chance to Adam Lyth at slip on seven as he cut at Maharaj, but shortly afterwards saw Duckett fall bowled off his pad by the same bowled for 13 in the final 20 minutes of the session as Notts slipped to 125-5 in the 42nd over.
Tom Moores got off the mark with a straight six against Maharaj before Patterson-White (15) edged Patterson behind with the penultimate ball of the session in the 47th over. He was trying to leave it alone.
1.02pm Patterson-White gone! He’s been caught behind off Patterson with the penultimate ball of the morning. Excellent morning as Notts fall to 131-6 at lunch.
12.44pm Duckett gone! He’s been bowled by Maharaj off pad. 125-5 in the 42nd.
12.29pm Patterson-White cuts at Maharaj and it flashes to Lyth at slip, who parries it over the bar. Patterson-White on seven, 116-4 in the 38th.
12.16pm Ben Duckett has just hoisted Keshav Maharaj for six over long-on and onto the pavilion roof, disturbing the tiling. Notts are 116-4 after 34 overs, exactly halfway to parity.

Good morning from Scarbados.
Day one was one which went the way of Nottinghamshire, but Yorkshire were certainly not over-run, as once looked likely.
At 7-3, 13-4 and 38-5, White Rose followers would surely have been fearing the worst. But Jonny Tattersall (92) and Tim Bresnan (58) put on 121 for the sixth wicket to underpin a recovery which saw 232 posted.
Then, Notts reached close at 41-0. In 17 overs with the new ball, Yorkshire would have hoped, and perhaps expected, to make the breakthrough. However, Jake Libby and Ben Slater, who has an excellent recent record against Yorkshire across all formats, dug in admirably for the Division One’s bottom side.
If Yorkshire can have a good morning, they will be back in touch.
The sun is shining once more at North Marine Road. We don’t expect any weather issues all week.
We begin at 11am. Enjoy the day.
