Yorkshire’s Academy produced a bit of Minster City magic last week to qualify for next month’s T20 Finals Day.

There will be plenty of Yorkshire interest in the forthcoming women’s T20 World Cup, with first-team stars Sterre Kalis and Rachel Slater representing Netherlands and Scotland respectively. But, flying under the radar somewhat has been the inclusion of White Rose Academy fast bowler Gabriella Fontenla in the Scotland squad.

There was a moment late on in Durham’s innings at Banks Homes Riverside last night which James Wharton believes says a lot about where Yorkshire currently are with their Vitality Blast cricket.

It was another case of 'so near, yet so far' as Yorkshire came agonisingly close to claiming a first victory of their Vitality Blast campaign but could not get over the line. 

Yorkshire are on the charge having won three from three in the Blast.
