Adam Lyth praised Hampshire’s new-ball seamer Kyle Abbott as the South African was to the fore on day two at Headingley as Yorkshire were forced onto the back foot.

Yorkshire endured frustration with the bat as Hampshire seized control at the halfway stage of the ongoing Rothesay County Championship fixture at Headingley, thanks largely to Kyle Abbott and Sonny Baker.

Head coach Rich Pyrah said there were plenty of positives to take from Yorkshire’s performance after they lost by the barest of margins in their first Tier 1 game at Somerset today.

The late Keith Gillhouley’s funeral will take place at 1pm this coming Monday, April 13, at Rawdon Crematorium, with the wake following it at Guiseley Cricket Club.
