Tom Kohler-Cadmore is hopeful Yorkshire can still challenge for victory in their ongoing Specsavers County Championship match with Somerset at Emerald Headingley.
This Division One clash has reached the halfway mark with Yorkshire 292-7 replying to 399.
They had been 119-5 before Kohler-Cadmore and Andrew Hodd shared a superb 173 for the sixth wicket either side of tea to drag the game towards parity.
If Yorkshire’s lower order, marshalled by unbeaten Hodd on 84, can have a good morning, they will be bowling second time around on a pitch which remains helpful for both seam and spin.
“It was nice to finish the day well from the position we were in,” said Kohler-Cadmore.
“If we can get close to their score and put them under pressure, it will be an interesting game.
“Jack Brooks got what he deserved (five wickets), and all the other lads kept running in. Even when Matt Fisher went down, everyone stood up. It was great fight from the lads.
