Report

Batting first we lost Will Fraine in the third over before Ben Birkhead and Jack Leaning added 31. Ben departed for 27 followed by Harry Brook who made 24 from 17 before being run out. Jack then added 54 in 36 balls with Tim Bresnan but was bowled one short of his half century. Bresnan remained unbeaten on 44 from 26 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes as Yorkshire posted 162 for 5.

Leicestershire’s reply reached 31 in only the fourth over before, with his first ball, Dom Bess dismissed Welch for 24. It seemed unlikely at the time but this was their highest individual score as they totalled 113 for 9 in their 20 overs – there were two wickets each for Tim Bresnan(2-22), Dom Bess (2-18) and Josh Shaw (2-13).

Yorkshire won by 49 runs.

In game two our visitors batted first as we made five changes to our team. Leicestershire were limited to 116 fpr 9, Bailey top scoring with 23 – Jordan Thompson 2-17, Josh Shaw 2-11 and Jared Warner 2-28.

Bilal Anjam fell in the first over but Ben Birkhead 41 from 29 settled the ship before Jack Leaning 45 not out from 32 and Will Fraine 20 no from 12 guided us to a eight wicket victory with seven overs to spare.
