Day two commenced with Somerset trailing by 296 with nine wickets in hand. Jared Warner struck in the fourth over of the day to remove Bartlett, caught at second slip by Jordan Thompson for 9, score 42-2. This became 67-3 and 79-4 as Thompson turned wicket taker to remove Rouse and Lammenby, both for 5 – the former bowled and the latter caught at point by Ed Barnes.
Opener Green was joined by Smeed and they remained unbeaten at lunch, the score 129-4, Smeed 18 not out and Green 79 not out – his 50 had arrived from 82 balls with 9 fours.
He had reached 97 from 150 balls when Thompson caught Smeed at gully from the bowling of Matthew Waite. Together they had added 101 in 159 balls and the ball prior to his dismissal Smeed had reached 50 from 97 balls with 8 fours.
Green reached his century from 162 balls with 15 fours and a six and at tea he was 150 not out from a further 43 balls including a further 6 fours and a six. Somerset were 265-5 and Goldsworthy was 29 not out. The over after tea he added 2 fours and was then bowled by James Logan.
The main wicket taker from the first innings, Harrison, came to the crease and he was 18 not out when Somerset declared on 341-6 – this was immediately after Green had hit his fifth maximum to reach his double century – this was from 232 balls and also included 24 fours.
Somerset led by 12 and we were ahead by 1 when Bilal Anjam was caught behind from the bowling of Groenewald for 5. Tom Loten joined Jeet Raval and at the close we were 63-1, leading by 51 – Jeet was 49 not out from 68 balls including 10 fours.
