Report

Day one saw only 23 minutes play before the rain came and day two was abandoned due to overnight rain therefore the third day commenced with us being 11-1 from six overs.

James Wharton made 38 and Matthew Waite 26 but despite four others reaching double figures we limped to 125 all out – there were five wickets for Neal conceding only 32 runs from 13 overs.

Matthew Waite and Jared Warner each struck to reduce Northants to 8-2. Shortly after Zaib, after being struck on the hand, retired but Thurston 28 and Gouldstone 54 not out saw them through to 100-4 when “hands were shaken” with the match ending in a draw.

Northants take 9 points and Yorkshire 6.

Next game is our final T20 day at Marske on Monday 5th August against Durham.

John Virr – 2nd XI Scorer

Day one of the fixture was abandoned after just six overs due to rain. At that stage, Yorkshire were 11 for 1 after winning the toss and electing to bat first.

Day two was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
