2025 was a landmark year for Yorkshire County Cricket Club, marked by progress on the field, record-breaking participation across the county, and renewed optimism for the future.Off the pitch, the strength of the Yorkshire cricket community was clear to see.
A total of 10,217 members supported the Club across the year, while Headingley once again proved its pulling power on the national stage. Almost 70,000 fans attended the England v India Test, with a further 46,257 supporters creating electric atmospheres during the Vitality Blast.
The Club also proudly lifted silverware, winning the Metro Bank One Day Cup Women’s League Two, a reward for depth, resilience and consistency.

At grassroots level, the impact across Yorkshire has been exceptional. 540 women’s and girls’ teams are now active across the county – a 15% increase on 2024 – showing the rapid growth of the women’s game. More than 10,000 children took part in All Stars, Dynamos and Roses Cricket, while 4,495 hours of Chance to Shine coaching reached schools and communities, supported by 53 ECB coaching courses delivered locally. This is thanks to the tireless work of the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation and the wider recreational game.
The YCF has seen incredible progress in 2025 since its merger with the Yorkshire Cricket Board, creating a single organisation tasked with developing and fostering cricket in the county.
On the field, 2025 boded well for the future. The men’s team’s return to Division One of the Rothesay County Championship brought valuable momentum, while the women’s team enjoyed a historic first season, winning silverware and establishing themselves ahead of Tier One cricket.
Looking ahead to 2026, excitement is building. Headingley will host a packed summer of cricket, including domestic and international fixtures, and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will bring the global spotlight back to Yorkshire. With participation at record levels, elite squads strengthening, and communities more engaged than ever, 2025 feels less like a conclusion – and more like the start of something even bigger.
