Yorkshire women claimed a stunning come-from-behind win in their season-opening clash with North East Warriors at the Seat Unique Riverside today.

The North East Warriors, the moniker for Durham’s women’s team, were chasing a total of 236 on the opening day of the County Championship summer.

But they slipped from 139-0 to 213 all out, with Bethany Slater starring with 4-32 from 10 overs.

Robyn Dennington struck twice, while Elicia Pollard, Lucy Randle-Bissell and contracted Northern Diamonds professional Emma Marlow were all in the wickets.

This fixture pitted a host of Northern Diamonds Academy and EPP players against each other, with a number also playing for the Warriors.
