Yorkshire’s players took on a climbing challenge with a twist as they look to scale the heights in 2020.

As preparations for the upcoming season continue, the Yorkshire squad opted for a change of scenery from the indoor nets as they took on a series of team challenges at ROKT Climbing Gym in Brighouse. Team challenges included rope climbing, bouldering, caving and abseiling.

ROKT is one of the UK’s best indoor bouldering and rope climbing centre, and home to the UK’s highest outdoor man-made climb wall, ROKTFACE.

Speaking about the importance of team building days such as these, Head Coach Andrew Gale said: “The lads have been working hard in the nets over the winter, so it is good to have a change of scenery from time-to-time.

“Team building activities such as this are an important way of building camaraderie within the squad and creating a more relaxed environment. Although lots of valuable work is done in the nets throughout the winter, it is good to introduce more variety to the players’ training schedules.

“We are now looking forward to our warm weather training as we step-up our preparations for the upcoming season.”
