GAME 1

Yorkshire won the toss and elected to bowl first. AJ Tye opened the bowling but it was Ben Cliff who struck first having Budinger caught in the deep for 17. Tye took his first wicket having Rishi Patel caught by Whiteman at mid-wicket for 22 . Jafer Chohan then bolwed Gumbs (53-3) and later in the same over a superb throw from Owen Smith ran out Trevaskis (56-4).

Ben Mike was bowled by Chohan for 6 (78-5) but then came a partnership of 59 in 42 balls between Wood and Jonny Tattersall. Wood was lbw to Tye for 34 from 21 balls with a four and 3 sixes and Tattersall finished 52 not out from 41 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes – Leicestershire closed on 167-6.

Yash Vgadia was caught at mid on (8-1) and Whiteman and Smith added 24 in 25 balls before Smith was bowled by Trevaskis for 15. Wickets fell at regular intervals with Whiteman 14, Tye 17 from 9 balls and Joe Thompson 22 as we fell to 102 all out.

GAME 2

Leicestershire, again batted first – Dan Moriarty had Budinger caught by Smith in the first over but the score had advanced to 39 in the 5th over before Brad Sylvester struck twice removing Patel for 18 and Eskinazi for 20.

Kelly made 30 from 19 balls with a four and 2 sixes before being caught by Chohan off Firbank (74-4) and Cox was caught at long leg for 16 (93-5). Green made 56 from 35 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes but it was Ben Mike who did the most damage with an unbeaten 28 from 9 balls with 4 sixes and the home side close on 201-6.

Rain came during the break in innings – the start was delayed for 34 minutes but no overs were lost. However shortly before the restart more rain came and the game was abandoned.

Next action is at Weetwood on Friday with a double header against SACA.
