This was the first group game of the 2025 season with Yorkshire hoping to go 1 step better than last year where we were beaten finalists.

Our line up included 8 players aged 18 and under – Leicestershire won the toss and chose to field first.  Unfortunately wickets fell early and at the end of the powerplay we were 32-4. Debutant Joe Hayes made 10 no from 11 balls as we closed on 146-9.

Swindells and Gumbs added 88 for the first wicket in 64 balls before Jafer Chohan claimed the first of 3 wickets having Swindells caught at long off by Pocklington – he made 56 from 42 balls with 8 fours.
