In just over three weeks, on Saturday 7th July, history will be made at Emerald Headingley as the venue hosts its first Women’s International fixture.

The game, which will see England take on New Zealand in the first Royal London ODI of the series, is sure to be a thrilling encounter with the current world champions hoping to impress the Yorkshire public.

Indeed, the way in which Heather Knight’s side played last summer, when the pressure was on during a World Cup on home shores, really gripped the nation. Spectators lucky enough to watch the Three Lions live were thoroughly entertained with key performances from up and down the line-up.

England’s World Cup triumph – The key performers

After losing their opening game to India, England went on a remarkable winning run. Knight’s side extracted revenge over India to seal a nine-run win in a dramatic finale at Lord’s which saw Anya Shrubsole claim six wickets and ultimately sealed the holy grail that is the World Cup.
