If you’re coming to Emerald Headingley for Sunday’s Vitality Blast game between Yorkshire Vikings and Birmingham Bears, there will be plenty of great activities going on around the ground to keep the whole family occupied.
Family activities in the Headingley Village
Off the field, the Headingley Village behind the East Stand will be buzzing with activity. For the very first time, we will be welcoming Ball Sportz who will have three great activities to try out; ten pin cricket, foot darts and tennis darts. We will also be welcoming Ian’s Mobile Farm back to the ground, so be sure to visit them to see their farm animals.Diddikicks will be running some football-skills related activities and the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation (YCF) will be running their Throw Show challenge. You can also challenge yourself with the YCF’s buzz-wire game. As with all great family days, face painters will be on site to help everyone get into the mood.
The ultimate Vikings collectable
For all juniors attending the game on Thursday, be sure to pick up a junior booklet from our ‘Yorkies’ on the gates. The booklet is full of fun quizzes and games, as well as an opportunity to design your own Vikings’ shirt and check out the head-to-head stats ahead of the game. There’s also a link to enter an online quiz and be in with a chance of winning a great prize!
Whilst at the gates, be sure to pick up your sticker from this game to put in your booklet.
4 and 6 cards
4 and 6 cards will be available from the Yorkies on the gates when you’re entering the ground. Collect yours and celebrate every boundary!
Yorkshire Cricket Foundation
At T20s this season, the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, official charity of Yorkshire CCC, are inviting you to help us make a #BuzzForYCF in their giant buzz wire challenge. See if you can beat the bleep and make it on YCF’s match-day leaderboard! All in aid of raising awareness of the charity work they do, YCF are giving away some fantastic prizes, including ticket vouchers to watch Yorkshire play here at Emerald Headingley and some goodie bags. YCF’s match-day awareness campaign is kindly sponsored by Skipton Building Society.
Harrogate Spring Water
Harrogate Spring Water will be running a ‘recycling challenge’ to promote our Incredible shrinking bottle and green credentials.
The game is suitable for all ages and is simple, but fun!
There are 5 of our ‘Incredible Shrinking Bottle Bins’ placed in a triangle with 3 at the back and 2 at the front. The bins at the back are worth 10 points and the bins at the front are worth 5 points.
Contestants are given a basket with 10 x shrinking bottles which they then have to ‘recycle’ in our bins.
This sounds easy, but due to the shape of our bins it’s quite difficult!
There’s a line on the floor (one for adults and one closer for kids) – this is where contestants will stand to make their shot.
The person (adult or child) who has the most points will win a £100 voucher to spend on YCCC merchandise in the on-site shop!
