The Nominees
Will Luxton
Will Luxton enjoyed an outstanding month with the bat, finishing June as Yorkshire’s leading run-scorer with 403 runs across all competitions. The 22-year-old struck a magnificent 167 against Warwickshire before following it with 69 in the second innings. Luxton was also remarkably consistent in the Vitality Blast, scoring 155 runs in four innings, with scores of 46, 37, 38 and 34.
Hassan Ali
Hassan Ali led Yorkshire’s bowling attack throughout June, claiming an impressive 16 wickets across the month. The Pakistan international produced outstanding figures of 4-18 against Leicestershire Foxes, took 3-39 in the dramatic tie at Derbyshire and collected five wickets across the County Championship fixture against Warwickshire.
George Hill
George Hill made a significant contribution with both bat and ball during June, scoring 157 runs and taking six wickets. Hill produced an excellent all-round display against Warwickshire, scoring 30 and an unbeaten 65 before returning bowling figures of 2-47 and 3-32. He also made 42 against Leicestershire and struck with the ball during the T20 tie at Derbyshire.
