Yorkshire Cricket is proud to announce that to mark Yorkshire Day this year the Yorkshire Vikings will wear a special limited edition retro shirt.

The retro remake of the AXA Equity & Law League Shirt from 1993 by our kit suppliers Kukri will be worn by Yorkshire Vikings as a one-off for the Metro Bank One-Day Cup fixture against Kent at Scarborough today – Tuesday, 1 August, 2023 (Yorkshire Day).

This iconic shirt was the first coloured kit worn by Yorkshire with this year also celebrating its 30-year anniversary.

Take a trip down memory lane and watch the kit launch video for the shirt previously voted Yorkshire CCC’s most popular coloured kit.

The Club would like to thank Seat Unique who are sponsoring the special Yorkshire Day fixture at North Marine Road.

Ottis Gibson, Head Coach of Yorkshire during the forthcoming Metro Bank One-Day Cup, after stepping away from his position as assistant coach with the Northern Superchargers, which he held in last year’s men’s Hundred, said: “Ali Maiden did a fantastic job with the (Yorkshire) team last year.

“We were one ball away from getting to the quarter-final eliminator match (last ball defeat to Kent). Hopefully this year we can go further and try and get into the final of that competition.

“I’m really looking forward to that. It’s going to be fun.”
