Company: The Northern Superchargers Limited
Position: Independent board member

Background
The Northern Superchargers is one of the eight city-based teams, with women’s and men’s sides that compete in The Hundred competition. The host venue is Headingley Cricket Ground and represents the First Class counties of Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Durham County Cricket Club.

The Hundred is an action-packed, unmissable cricket competition that fuses world-class cricket with blockbuster entertainment.

Combining a short, fast format of cricket, with each game lasting less than three hours, and incredible entertainment beyond the sport, The Hundred is making cricket more accessible
and reaching a broader audience. It’s simple: 100 balls per team, most runs wins, so every ball counts.

The Northern Superchargers’ brand purpose is to throw its cricket doors open to the whole community, seeking to unleash brilliance, potential and the ability to convert opportunities into
wins.

The Northern Superchargers – Team Co Board
The Team Co Board is a wholly-subsidiary of the ECB and has been incorporated by the ECB as an English private company limited by shares with standard-form articles of Association.

The Role
As the competition continues to evolve, including some expected structural refresh from 2025, the Board seeks to add another independent director to add to the existing constituency, to ensure the Northern Superchargers are delivering to its purpose beyond simply success on the cricket pitch for the team.

The board seeks to ensure it has a strong mix of cricketing & wider sporting, commercial, community, generational and overall demographic diversity and is looking for candidates who are genuinely interested in the competition: committed to working together as part of the Board team to continue to grow engagement, excitement and success for this sporting entertainment brand.
There will be a minimum of four Team Co Board meetings that you will be expected to attend (these currently often take place as video calls).

Beyond that, we seek a candidate who acts as an informal ambassador for the Northern Superchargers and the wider Hundred Competition as it continues to grow and expand.
